The Recycling Center & Transfer Station (RCTS) accepts household garbage, recyclables, and yard waste. The center also accepts paper, wood, plastics, metals, cardboard, and construction debris. RCTS sells compost in bags & in bulk and bark only. Click here for more information.
The Recycling Center and Transfer Station is conveniently located at 1300 Loveridge Road in Pittsburg, just north of the Pittsburg-Antioch Highway.
AMERICA RECYCLES DAY: America celebrates Recycle Day every year on November 15. This year, (like we did last year) Contra Costa Waste Services’ will have a free e-Waste event will take place on Saturday, November 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the RCTS facility located at 1300 Loveridge Road in Pittsburg, Calif. Free bagels and doughnuts will be provided. Anyone who drops off their e-Waste items will also receive up to four bags of compost for free. Additionally, free compost bags will be provided to people who bring clean wood, yard waste, and other recycling items to the Contra Costa Waste Services facility, known as the Recycling Center & Transfer Station (RCTS). RCTS is one of the largest recycling centers in the country at approximately 170,000 square feet when combined with the nearby Mt. Diablo Recycling center.
Mt. Diablo Recycling Center is also located at 1300 Loveridge Road. It is a buy-back center.
